Since we’ve opened, we’ve been dedicated to changing the lives of people one person at a time, through martial arts, education and coaching. We strive to provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for all students and family members. We take pride in creating an environment for individuals to achieve, develop and succeed in their personal goals.
We strongly believe that martial arts can be for everyone, regardless of age, gender or experience levels. Throughout all of our programs, students will not only learn the necessary skill sets to protect themselves, we stand behind our realistic and practical approach, confident it will enable every member to achieve greatness and live their best life.

Skyler Cummings- Owner & Head Coach
3rd Degree Black Belt (Sandan) – USA JUDO CERTIFIED CONTINENTAL COACH AND USA WRESTLING CERTIFIED COPPER COACH – SAFESPORT, CONCUSSION, AND CPR CERTIFIED.
Residing in Brooklyn, CT, Skyler began judo in 2007. After years of dedication and commitment, she received her black belt at the age of 15 in 2016. In order to pursue judo at the Olympic level, she home schooled through high school, traveling all around the world for training and competitions. Skyler is a 14X National Champion, former Pan Am and World Team Member, along with other national and international accolades. On the wrestling side, she wrestled competitively until about 15, focusing solely on judo at that point. She placed in boy’s States, along with taking 4th at the Big Red Eastern Nationals (boys division). In November 2020, Top Game opened and has prospered ever since, impacting the lives of kids and adults throughout the community. In 2022, Skyler became the youngest judo coach ever to coach at a World Championship. Skyler has single-handedly coached close to 50 national level medalists (not including novice) and continues to develop not only great judo players and wrestlers, but even better people. Skyler coaches every single class, and easily adapts demeanor and skills to not only each class, but each individual person to best support their growth.
Chris Cummings- Volunteer Assistant Coach
Leana Nelson- Volunteer Assistant Coach
2nd Degree Black Belt (Nidan) – USA JUDO CERTIFIED NATIONAL COACH – SAFESPORT AND CONCUSSION CERTIFIED.
Leana began judo around 13 years old, but was inconsistent and didn’t have much direction. After quite a few years out of judo, Leana helped support the opening of Top Game in 2020. She started assisting with the kids, but in late 2021, she began practicing again and started competing. With unmatched dedication, Leana made the 2022 Junior World Team for Team USA. This same year, she earned her black belt. Between consistently winning and medaling at every national competition, as well as taking international medals, she was able to finish 2023 as the Number 1 Athlete in the United States at the 57 kilogram weight class. With continuous success in both national and international competition, Leana is working towards gold at the LA 2028 Olympic Games. As dedicated as she is on her personal journey, Leana is just as dedicated to the growth and development of all of our judoka!
Tayler Cummings- Volunteer Youth Assistant Coach
1st Degree Black Belt (Shodan) – SAFESPORT CERTIFIED
Tayler is Sensei Skyler’s sister. At about 4, she had a short lived judo experience for about 6 months. Tayler stuck mainly to dance and cheerleading for most of her childhood. After an almost 12 year lay off, she began judo again in 2021 and began mentoring the kids in their sessions at Top Game. Tayler has won multiple national medals including a Brown Belt National Title. Tayler is in the dojo 6 days a week, both helping and participating in classes.
Kolby Sanders- Volunteer Youth Assistant Coach
Brown Belt
Kolby began judo at Top Game just before his 13th birthday. He had no combat sport experience at the time, but quickly began making leaps to become better, beginning to do multiple classes a day about 6 months into starting judo. Once he aged out, Kolby began assisting with our kids program. He is one of our national competitors with multiple national medals under his belt. Kolby also wrestles in high school at Ellis Tech, being a 2X Class M State Placer, and 2 year team captain. Kolby is also part of the electrical program at Ellis. Kolby is a great example of a Top Game developed leader, both on and off the mats.
